Finding a men's hairpiece that looks completely natural and feels comfortable starts with one crucial step: accurate head measurement. An ill-fitting toupee can cause slippage, discomfort, and detract from realism. At UOMOHAIR, we specialize in premium human hair toupees for men, and we know a perfect fit is paramount for confidence. Follow this simple guide to measure your head correctly for your next undetectable men's hair system.
Why Precise Measurement Matters for Toupees
Security & Comfort: Prevents shifting or sliding during daily activities.
Natural Hairline: Ensures the lace front toupee or poly perimeter aligns flawlessly with your own hairline.
Optimal Adhesion: Allows adhesives or tapes to work effectively across the entire toupee base.
Realistic Appearance: Eliminates bulkiness or gaps for a seamless blend.
How to Measure Your Head for a Toupee (Step-by-Step):
- Find And Mark Your Hairline: The first step in applying your human hair toupee for men is marking your front hairline. Simply place four fingers above your eyebrows – the point above your highest finger is your starting point. Mark this location.(Shown as position 1 in the picture)
- Measure Front To Back: You will need to take a measuring tape and measure your scalp from front to back. Start at the point where you’ve marked your hairline all the way to the point where your hair at the back of your head starts (assuming you’re bald in the center).
- Measure Side-to-Side at Your Hair's Thickest Point. Always choose the LONGEST possible measurement here. If the toupee base is slightly too large, it can be easily trimmed down for a perfect fit. Cutting it too short initially, however, cannot be fixed
Pro Tip: Measure 2-3 times for accuracy! If measurements fall between sizes, especially circumference, usually sizing up slightly is better than sizing down for comfort and adhesion.
